Coal Brews is a team effort, but the idea traces back to 2018 when Josh Whiting launched our sister company, Bright Coal, and discovered the joy and unique challenges of creating “community brands.” Fast forward to 2022, when some good friends (now partners) invited Josh and his wife to help bring Trellis Coffee Bar to life in Augusta, GA. Through the process, Josh fell head-over-heels for coffee branding — whether it was designing merch, styling the shop, or (of course) crafting the perfect logo.
